The Weekend of Mistakes
1st March to 3rd March
We’re delighted to announce that the celebrated Library of Mistakes will be in residence at Hay Castle, 1st-3rd March 2024. Join historians, financial experts, investment sages for a wealth of wisdom, and enjoy a weekend of financial booms and busts, bubbles, swindles, panics and crashes.
Talk by Jasper Fforde
6th March
Jasper Fforde will be talking about his latest book Red Side Story the sequel to Shades of Grey (No, not that book - that was called 50 Shades of Grey!). In the new book the action simply carries on a couple of weeks where Shades of Grey ended.
Hay Music: The Mikeleiz-Zucchi Duo
15th March to 16th March
At The Castle, Hay-on-Wye on Friday, 15 March – from Pretorius to Piazzola - a varied programme from this versatile accordion/saxophone duo. On Saturday, 16 March at The Globe, Hay-on-Wye, a relaxed Tango-based evening.
Concerts for Craswall: The Marmen Quartet
16th March
This extraordinary quartet has firmly established a reputation for the vitality and intensity of their playing. Their virtuosity is fittingly showcased in a programme which sees Debussy's String Quartet and Mozart’s early String Quartet No 6 nestled between two well-loved works by Haydn and Ravel.
Welsh Fairy Tales, Myths and Legends

The world’s largest ideas and music festival returns to Hay over the May Bank Holiday (24-27^th )! Over*200 speakers and performers* join us for a weekend of deep-diving debate, intimate talks, critically acclaimed music and laugh-out-loud comedy. Thus far speakers announced include Nobel Prize winner Roger Penrose, world renowned philosopher Slavoj Zizek and Financial Times Chair Gillian Tett with many more to come. Concerts for Craswall: Hope Cramsie, guitar
26th May
Originally from Herefordshire, Hope Cramsie is a classical guitarist based in the UK and Belgium. Winner of the Ivor Mairants Guitar Award, she is making a welcome return after her sell out concert here in 2022. The varied programme includes music by Dowland, Arnold, Snowden, Berkley and Walton.
