Bullens Bank Cottage is just 200 yards further up the track shared
with Llangain Farmhouse (sleeps 8 + 4).
The two properties can be rented simultaneously for large groups.
Also an ideal retreat for 2 people.

Location: 1000 ft up on a hillside, with the most spectacular views over the Wye Valley, you will find BULLENS BANK cottage (the views extend for 70 miles!) perched about 300 yards up a steep country track in isolated farmland. The cottage is about 200 years old and was restored in the mid '80s. The garden extends round the property, allowing uninterrupted views.

There is a ha-ha wall with a 6-foot drop on one side. The area is excellent for walking including the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons National Park. Hay-on-Wye, the second hand book centre of the world is 3 miles to the west, well supplied with eating-places.

Swimming and canoeing on the Wye are excellent and pony trekking is available from several centres near Hay and in the Llanthony Valley. Windsurfing, sailing and boating are available at Llangorse Lake. The Black Mountains Gliding Club is near Talgarth and there are microlights at Shobden Airfield. There are parascending courses on Hay Bluff too. Those who prefer not to drive up the steep track to the property can easily park off the road at the bottom though we have recently had quite a lot of work done on the track.

Accommodation.
Sitting room 1 with wood-burning stove, storage heater, TV and VCR, has a Chesterfield sofa recently restored and two armchairs, also a dining table and chairs. Sitting room 2 has a wood-burning stove, storage heater, sofa-bed, a dining table and chairs and astonishing views from its many windows.

There is a hi-fi system for CDs and tapes. Newly fitted kitchen with electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, food processor, tumble dryer and washing machine. Bathroom with bath, shower, basin and WC. Upstairs: 3 small bedrooms - 1 with twin beds leading to 1 double bedroom and another twin bedroom, all with fitted carpets. The garden is well equipped with garden furniture, picnic tables, benches, soft reclining chairs and barbecue.

Services.
Heating by storage heaters and wood-burning stoves. Electricity and logs are included in the price. Duvets and pillows provided, bed linen available for small charge. Pets welcome. Cot provided.

Bullen’s Bank cottage and Llangain are good for small parties as well as large parties. Small parties may be eligible for a reduction in price at certain times of year.

Weeks from £380 - Friday to Friday and weekends from £250.

More flexible start days at off peak times.

Bullens Bank can be hired for large parties at special rates.
